Hi all,

My wife and I will be spending a day in Portland next week, and we're looking for an short, flat, and possibly scenic ride. My wife isn't a very strong rider yet, so under 20 miles would be ideal.

We've also thought of just riding around the city and seeing the sites. Any recommendations of fun places/restaurants/museums to fit into a bike tour of the city?

Thanks

Jason

Starting where?

From downtown, I'd cruise along the Willamette along Waterfront Park and the Eastside Esplanade. For a couple more scenic miles, go south on the Oaks Bottom Trail to Milwaukie. The link between the Esplanade and the Oaks Bottom Trail goes past OMSI if you want a fun museum/IMAX movie break. That route will get you about 14-18 miles, all of it flat, 90% percent on dedicated bike route.

Here's the Portland bike map:

I'd also ask this question on the BikePortland forum: http://bikeportland.org/forum/ . No doubt you'll get some interesting answers.

Yeah the entire springwater corridor is a pretty easy ride. Most difficult part is traffic on the downtown waterfront and esplenade.
