Forum Suggestions & User Assistance - Advice

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I feel stupid asking this because i'm sure it's blatantly obvious, but is there a section i'm not seeing where I can ask questions as a newbie. Advice, and such.
THanks,
Chris

You can ask questions in any of the forums. What kind of question did you have?

To give you an idea of the question it was..
this is my budget, my current usage, and the usage I intend on using a bike for... What do you recommend, what forum would you post that in?
again, sorry if it's incredibly obvious. This is a very large, intimidating forum. hah.
Thanks,
Chris

General Cycling Discussion forum would be a good start to narrowing down your choices.

I posted it in the mountain biking section, and I feel like I made it relevant enough where it shouldn't be a problem. If it is, hopefully someone will move it without an issue.
Thanks for the quick response time guys, makes the site look real good!

People in the Mountain-Bike forum will direct you to a mtn. bike. Road-Bike people will directly push road-bikes on you. As for Hybrid-people - we don't have a forum yet. But when we do - we'll probably push Hybrids on you. So the General Cycling will narrow your choices down a ways.

I was looking for the hybrid section. I'll gladly rock a mountain bike, if they don't suck on the road. It's kind of like with my vehicle, I could have bought the mud terrains for offroading, or the all-terrains for both, and its my daily driver. Obvious choice if ya ask me.

Actually, for now, General is renamed Hybrid Bicycles and General Cycling, effective this morning, sine statistically, most of the hybrid threads are started there. When the whole hybrid forum idea gets strong enough for a full subforum, it will split from general to it's own subforum. It's developing like Clydesdale's and Athena's Subforum did, as that forum was originally a sticky thread in Road Cycling, believe it or not.
