I'm asking because I'm wondering what on earth was in the air. There seemed to be some kind of chemical or something floating around and it tasted horribly bitter and made my lips numb. My best guess is they sprayed for mosquitos but I have not seen any of those spray trucks in weeks.

That does sound like what you'd expect to feel from residual permethrin spray... but according to their website (http://www.cityofgainesville.org/GOVERNMENT/CityDepartmentsNZ/PublicWorks/MosquitoControl/tabid/272/Default.aspx), Gainesville Mosquito Control hasn't been doing any adulticiding lately.

I haven't been in Gainesville since Saturday, so I didn't experience this myself. At what time and place did this happen? (Was this near the propane company on Archer Road, by any chance? :innocent:)
