Pacific Northwest - Favorite rides in Vancouver

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been trying to map out about a 25 mile loop ride and have been having some difficulties. What are some good routes you guys ride?

Where are you starting?
Have you looked at the Vancouver Bike Club's web page? It's got maps and cue sheets for a variety of local rides: http://www.vancouverbicycleclub.com/roadscholars/Maps.htm

Another good place is mapmyride.com. Just search on Vancouver, Battleground, Camas, or wherever in Vancouver you live.

The gorge is one obvious place. You could also head down to Sauvie Island (near Portland). Both routes are extremely popular. Are you leaving from your house? If so, what neighborhood?
+1 on the VBC website, there are tons of good rides listed.

Thanks for the link to the VBC site, there's a lot of great routes there. I can start just about anywhere in Vancouver. I'm not against driving to a starting location. But I live off of Padden Parkway and have been riding along that bike path and wanted to ride up Ward into Hockinson but there is major construction.

Yeah, it's gotten sucky up there. I used to live off of 172nd just south of Hockinson and it was OK.
A good route north from the Padden is:
north on 137th Ave.
west on 99th.
north on 124th Ave
east on 114th
north on 132nd
this gets you pointed towards Brush Prairie and Battle Ground while avoiding the schtuff around Hockinson. It's the western chunk of this ride:

Jeff's right, that is the best way to avoid the construction. From Hockison, you could swing on down to Lacamas Lake/Camas following the reverse RACC route http://www.vancouverbicycleclub.com/roadscholars/Maps-Cues/RSRRACC65C.pdf
Once in the Cascade Park area you can head back to Padden on 136th/137th (not part of the RACC route)
