Depends on what kind of plastic they're made of. My rudy projects will certainly not shatter, then again, my $1.65 safety glasses in the machine shop certainly will not shatter either.

But you have a true rudy project, not a knock-off of it. That's the difference. The knock-offs don't use quality lens, which are shatter proof.

True, I meant the point I was making was if they can put shatter proof lenses on a $1.65 pair of safety glasses, it's not that much more expensive to have shatter proof lenses on cheap knockoffs. Polycarb by itself is naturally UV resistant. The carbon used to tint it adds a little more UV resistance. Technology's trickled down to the point where even the glasses you buy at the pharmacy are made of the same material. The only thing is trademark dilution and the quality of the finish by buying replicas.
I have a really old pair of cheap sunglasses from 15 years ago, however, that used a different kind of plastic and had just a "film" for the dark shading, now those I wouldn't wear for my life now.
I look like a freaking owl, my whole face is tanned and I have these huge white ovals around my eyes. Gotta protect the eyes.
Oakley should laser etch their name through the bottom of the lens and frame so everyone has the Oakley tanned onto their face, that'll be hilarious. :D

I've seen the Replicas and they look exactly the same as the originals. UV protection is the same on $10 - $$$$$ sunglasses. As for me I buy the originals because I waste money and I *trust* Oakley to sell products that they have actually tested to meet their stringent requirements.

As for me, most of the Oakley replicas that I see are the models that will not fit my face; otherwise, I might have purchased one or two.

I personally own, Juliets, 2004 Zeros, and Magnesium M-Frames I have a wide face and its hard to find sunglasses that fit my fat face.

Who are you talking about? I hope it's not me... If people want to purchase Replica's then do because there really is not way to tell anyways. The styles that I own, I have not seen any Replica's as of yet.
