Well you have a new custom built (AWESOME) bike, seems like changing the boss's position is going to be a difficult job. Not to mention messing up the paint job. But I know it can be done for sure. Richard
Post first, then read !! LOL Guess it was no trouble.

Thanks Richard. Yeah' it's been quite the process and still not done yet. The Brake boss on the DS front fork is a little mangled, I was able to get the brake cantilever on there but I will have to bring it in and replace it. Should be not all the difficult and probably close to free. My giant dealer is cool like that.

I hate to say it, but that looks ridiculous. However, if it works for you, go with it! Ride that thing hard (hehe that's what she said!... I'm soo immature).
Edit: From my electronics knowledge (I'm not only active on this forum, y'know! I have another favorite forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?u=436131), where I have over 2,000 posts), I know why your iPhone camera performed so poorly. It is because you took the picture in a poorly lit area and the image sensor in the phone performs very poorly in low light situations.

You probably missed it - It is winter set up. To ride a bike in snow is not very normal..right? How the bike can look normal for abnormal riding?
To me every detail and part of this bike is seems to be very logical.

Does it work now? When an electronic device comes in contact with water, you are supposed to make sure it's off and then put it in uncooked rice (it draws the moisture out) for 3-5 days. DO NOT attempt to turn it on after it comes into contact with water.

I just went to Apple and picked up a new one, they restored all my APPS, contacts, everything in just a few minutes, with ICLOUD back up. Didn't even know I was using it. Was there washing the mud off an MTB..

I really like your winter bike set up, SWEET, but even I have to wonder how you use the "aero-bars" much, seems you'd need to keep your hands on the reg. bars in the snow and ice for max. control??

One more concern: do you ever feel like you have too much pressure or numbness in you hands when riding?

Same question to you, Jimbo - ever get numb hands or feel like there is too much weight on your hands when riding?

It was 38* when I parked at Tobin Park this AM, but I was prepared, and I had a pretty good 22 mile ride all the way up into McAllister Park and back and tacked on a few more miles after that.
One thing about it, it wasn't very crowded for a Saturday morning!
LarDasse74, in answer to your question is no I don't, but that might be remedied in your case by trying to adjust your seat where it's either level or tilted slightly back to transfer your weight a little rearward.
On my old bike it didn't fit, and I had that problem, but when your fitted correctly to the bike it isn't a concern, so you need to tweek yours until you find a happy medium.

My longest ride is a little over 10 miles, but I didn't have any numbness in my hands/arms then... nor any other time I've ridden. I really like the multiple different hand positions the drop bars offer, which was the reason I did the conversion, not for any speed/aero reasons.

I returned those godawful Forté Kōr barends. There was absolutely no padding and it was torture (I know this from riding on the trainer, not going on an actual ride :( ). I won a pair of Agogo ultralight bar ends on ebay. Buy it now price was $20, and there was no bid at 1:30 left in the auction. So I kept watching it, and at 10min before the end of the auction I put in my lowball bid of $0.99. I won the pair! I ended up paying $6 because of shipping, but I think I got a great deal! I taped them and installed them right when they arrived. I'll post a picture when I go for my next ride!

the bike is my winter/foul weather bike. when riding through ice and snow i do stay up on the flat bar, but there are many days (the vast majority of this winter) between december and april when we don't have snow and ice on the roads, but we do have SAVAGE winds blowing in off of lake michigan (i ride directly along the lakeshore on my daily commutes) so aerobars to the rescue.

I'm also awaiting my replacement front wheel from Sports Authority. It was out of true beyond repair (rim was bent from me hitting a pole back in october and I finally got around to having them replace it because I was sick of having my brakes open so wide). I am currently using a 27" steel wheel from my dad's 80's Motobecane road bike as a riser for the front end for the trainer. I do not plan on riding with it, but if I have to, the guys at the Bike Mechanics subforum assured me it would be ok.

I LOVE my local performance bike shop! Though they're moving next month and they are running low on stock. I was going to just cut off my old grips and get a new pair to put on the new bar, but because they are really low on stock, they had none and I had to use my old grips. I have blisters on my left hand (and I'm left handed :() from pulling off the grips. My bike will be pretty different when you see it next (though you may not be able to see all of the differences).
My old bar is steel, so I took off about 300g from my bike.

They matched REI's online price of $359.00 dollars, but (they) had one in stock, plus I returned that crappy little AXOIM Headlight $19.99, then purchased the membership 30.00 more. So out the door Taxes and all was $392.88, but I have my TEAM CARD with 46.00 dollars on it for extras. (Going to get a better light with it) LOL

I love shopping for bike stuff ! Just took a (QUICK) little ride, 2.8 miles it's late here, and raining just a small bit.
( I REALLY like the fit of the INSIGHT model) just feels so right for me, that's why I went for the upgrade while they still had the sale. At 25 pounds, with all the Alivio drive train, plus 24 speed, shifters, AVID brakes, and those Kendra Kwick Trax w/puncture resistant K-shield, and think the stock saddle is going to be a keeper, couldn't help myself. Very pleased with it ! Richard

Your going to love the bike Richard, and you got a heck of a deal.
Only thing I changed on mine was the seat, and like I said before, I don't think the original seat is bad at all but after riding for over an hour or so it seemed cause me some pain, and I shopped around and decided I wanted one that was custom fit to me, so I bought the Bontreager Nebula Plus from the local bike shop after having my sit bones measured. They come in three sizes and my measurement called for the narrow one.
It's not as soft as the original, and seems a little more rigid at first but so far it is comfortable, and I have no pain even on some longer rides, so the sizing seems to work.
Also those large pedals are made so you can add toe clips, which I had on another bike, and they work well if you do a lot of climbing, and keep your feet on the pedals when you get into an aggressive cadance but I never replaced mine after pretty much wearing them out.
That sure is a nice looking bike (biased) and you give some good reports.

I forgot to mention I got rid of those spoke reflectors also on mine!
I know they are nice for obvious safety reasons, but I had them on another bike and I kept hearing this rubbing and clicking sound and thought it was my front bearings as every time I turned the front wheel and leaned into the turn it would get louder.
I even disconnected the brake in the front and it still made the noise and I was about to take the bike in and have the front hub rebuilt and finally I took the reflectors off the wheel and the sound went away.
First thing I did was take them off the new Diamondback! LOL!

Am already very pleased with it, I have to thank another poster, on a different thread about the REI link on the price. And then Performance for matching it. The bike has really sparked a flame in me for Riding more on the Roads, (which I have plenty of out here in the sticks). Going to leave the saddle on for now, and the reflectors, just picked up a CATEYE HL-EL220 at the bike shop today. It was not very expensive, and heavy as a brick. Going to install it in a few minutes and go for a night ride. Never thought I would be back on a Diamondback again, was very popular during my years at the bike shop though. Richard

Here is the CATEYE HL-EL220 , worked much better than expected for the price, $19.99 dollars at Performance. Mounting it takes just a couple minutes, very secure fit, gives out a nice wide beam for riding. More than enough light for these dark rural roads, and I like that it runs on 4 AA battery's. Probably the brightest inexpensive light I have purchased. Richard
