I have been looking for comments on the Point to Point this weekend, but haven't seen any. So I'll have to ask. I already posted this in the Northeast forum, but no one seems to be interested.

This is going to be my first time on the ride, and my first century. Even though its been a rainy wet summer, and I do not have as many miles in as I had hoped, I am not too worried about the distance. I rode 70 miles including Smugglers Notch last weekend and felt good. I have heard the final climb is a bear. Do I have to really hold back for the last two climbs?

I haven't done the ride but if you're fine climbing Smugglers Notch then I seriously doubt you'll have any problems with a climb on a charity ride. I checked out the cue sheet and it says 'good climb - 3 miles' but no mention of elevation gain. As far as holding back... maybe just avoid going anaerobic. Save that for the end. :thumb:

Thanks. That's my plan - to avoid going anaerobic, and stay well hydrated - and I think it will be no problem. Its been close to 10 years since I did any long hard days, and just getting back into it now that the kids are getting a little older. If the bike holds together, and it doesn't get dark before I get to the finish, it should be fun.
