Curious idea, but I'm pessimistic.

What'd I like would be a secure place to leave *my* bike(s) and rent one of these for locking outside the bar in a questionable neighborhood, etc. Other idea might be lunch time racers with fellow riders from work.

Other thoughts?

These bike rental/sharing schemes sound so great. I wish them all the success in the world.

I recently heard, though, that in Paris vandalism of these bikes is far worse than anyone imagined it would be. It sounded as though it was bad enough to threaten the very idea.

It's a shame. Why won't people just behave themselves?
