Pacific Northwest - Lopez Island (not quite how I planned)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok so we sissied out and took the truck over along with the bikes. When we got to the ferry dock at Anacortes the rain was coming sideways. So I told Mrs. Stringbreaker "Lets take the truck" For some reason she didn't argue. We drove to our cabin parked the truck and got the bikes down and off we went for about 3 hours. I don't like to ride in the rain mainly cause its so hard to see. We did ride down to the townsite and look around and in between rain squalls rode around, back and forth to wherever we pointed out tires. It wasn't too bad and by the time M.S. was completely soaked it was time to check in. I should point out the first thing I did was to wipe the bikes down so they wouldn't get the floor of the cabin all wet. No way was I letting them sit out in what could have been a very rainy night. Tuesday dawned foggy and cool and drippy so since we didn't feel like getting all the stuff wet that had dried out overnight (mainly us) we decided to take the truck and drive down for breakfast. When we got back to the cabin the sky was clearing so we hopped on the bikes and took the rest of the day to ride around the island. It was really nice. Not too warm and not cold just right for riding. Here are a few pretty self explanatory pictures we took. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb150/stringbreaker53/001-3.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb150/stringbreaker53/005-1.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb150/stringbreaker53/018-1.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb150/stringbreaker53/031.jpg

Here is the link. http://www.lopezfarmcottages.com/ we had some issues with plumbing in our cabin which was number three. Ann, one of the owners told us there are issues with low water pressure and that the water is extremely hard so the deposits build up in the piping really quickly which affect pressure. Other than that we had a great time once we dried out. I think we should have stayed all week just to decompress. Soon as we got up this morning I started in on the remodel project and its still throwing surprises at me and costing me more money than I planned. If you get the chance and time to go take it we had a nice time considering we only had one nice full day of riding.

How were the seals down at Shark's Reef?

Plentiful, laying about like seals do.
