Hey guys. First post in the forum--aside from the Buy and Sell...which brings me here.

Just curious to know; what are your recommendations for sites on the web to sell my Trek 8500? I've posted here and MTBR Classifieds. Was told of Ebay but am unwilling to put out that much information over the web (i.e, credit card and bank account numbers).

I'd appreciate any help.

how about www.craigslist.org?

you can deal locally if you are apprehensive about online transaction

many local bike shops will allow customers to post used bikes for sale

also check with local bike clubs, local colleges/universities also a possibility

also reconsider your price....most things dont sell because they are listed for too much

rec.bicycles.marketplace is a great newsgroup to buy and sell stuff on and it's free.

You can access it through google if you don't have news server access through your ISP.

If -you're- unwilling to put that sort of information over the internet, can you really expect a buyer to deal with you over the same medium? Personally, I use Ebay and PayPal quite a bit for both buying and selling and have had no problems at all in the last several years.
