Does anyone use them ? I saw a display for them about a week ago and they had one there. They are supposed to be the only bottle you will ever need, they keep the water tasting like water. They are kind of expensive though ( $19.99 + tax) are they worth the money?
I used to have a lot of sigg bottles that I grabbed off of sierratradingpost.com
I believe they still have em for like 8 bucks each. The sports bottles have this pressure relief design so that you can just suck the water out without squeezing the bottle (well you really can't since it's aluminum).
The bare aluminum color's good and the coating seems to keep odors and after taste to a minimum. Bottle does dent though but that's just signs of use. Since it's metal, conducts heat fast and it adapts to the ambient temp, plus gets really sweaty in the summer.
If there is no insulation in the bottle as Slvoid indicated then NO it's not worth it!! You can buy a 24oz Polar bottle for $10 retail that will keep you drink cold in hot weather or vice versa. I put about a dozen ice cubes in one bottle and that will last about 1 hour when the outside temp is about 90 degress. If I fill it full of ice then add the drink it will last about 1 3/4 of an hour. If I pour in the drink then freeze the bottle solid it will stay cold for 3 hours. At the end of these times I posted, the drink is still cool not warm or hot but not cold.
These Polar bottles are pretty well made; the three I have are 5 years old and still good to go.
I don't care about the "taste" because I use Gatorade anyway, so I can't taste that plastic taste; but I do care about the temperture of the drink when I drink it.

Well I am a huge believer in Sigg. Mostly because I use it for more than just cycling. I have the 1 liter bottle and am able to load it up with purified water from home then take it in my messenger bag with a traveller screw top and have water throughout the day. No more $1-2 bottles of water from vending machines.
You can also get cages for it and swap out to a sports bottle top.
No taste imparted onto the water.
