Ok, I leave tomorrow for the Dairyland Dare (120 miles and lots of climbing). My plan was to ride my LeMond with SRAM Force compact (50/34 and 12/26). However, over the past couple rides, the crank has been coming loose. When I tighten to torque specs., it does not spin free. When I back it off a little, it won't stay tight. I don't have much time to figure this out, so I'm thinking of switching to my Roubaix. The Roubaix has a 53/39 with 12/23. I could switch the cassette to 12/26, but that would leave me one gear short of the LeMond. What would you do?
