Hey, anyone who rides/drives reguarly around the Green Mountain Nat'l Forest, do you happen to know the condition of County Road? Is it passable even by car?

I want to ride up it (go E to W) but I have heard conditions can be "variable." The Nat'l Parks Service list it as suitable for a passenger vehicle... however I'm going to ride it on 700c-23, so too much loose gravel on a steep slope = walking, which is something I want to avoid. If it's packed gravel, I'll attempt it. If anyone has some beta for me, I'd really appreciate it!

Especially if conditions are known just to the west of the AT/powerline crossing, apparently that's where it can be really bad.

I am not too sure if you would enjoy it on those wheels....I haven't been through there since february an there was a couple feet of hard pack snow on the road surface...and I was going about 50...

Well, I don't mind if I won't enjoy it, just want to know if it's passable. Maybe I'll take a drive through there first and do some recon.
