Hi,

i am considering buying a Fuji Track 650 (43cm) with brakes (it's a freewheel) and warrantee for $540. Does anyone have experience with this bike? Is it a good bike for this amount of money? Can I find a better bike for the same or less? I intend to use it in the city for commuting (approx 20miles/day) and the occasional road ride.

A salesperson from a bike store other than the store I would be buying the bike from told me that Fuiji's are no longer strong bikes. Maybe he was just trying to get me to buy his Trek Soho. I have been under the impression that the Fuji is a solid make, and it also makes the smaller bikes (1 am 4'11)... any comments/experience?

Thanks!

welcome to bf!

you can look at Fuji track bikes here:

(seems like the price you mention is close to MSRP; i'd shop around some more)

good luck!

I love mine, it's a few years old. It corners very well. The frame is truly a track frame, it is very stiff.

Fuji's are great, normally a very good value. So are lots of others. Prices can be all over the place, there's no real answer to exact price, they change. It's more important to buy from a place you trust, than exact price. Buy from a shop that will honor the warranty etc. Ask some customers about the place you want to buy from.

Of course the salesperson from the other store will say negative things about the competition, it means nothing. Yes he was trying to sell you a bike. !!
