Mountain Biking - The Official Stop Using "Official" in the Title Thread

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Should the word "official" and variants of the word "official" should be banned or starred out in titles from this point forward?

Discuss.

Consider this my signature to the petition. It should be only used once per year...at Christmas...in support of Santa Claus.

I am officially declaring this unofficial to the mtb forums. Make it official or it goes to trash.

the official battle between ed and the new guy has become increasingly funny as it goes on. i vote not yet, but soon.

But if we ban the word, how will we know the difference between super important threads about Stumpy M2's, and just boring repeat threads about an average bike with 3 parallel threads of diminishing importance?

Nothing on this forum is important. Really. None of it.

You should be the official guru of the mtb forum......for your wisdom is great.

Were we battling? Heck man...my feet are still up on the dayam table. I'd better bring down the thunder. (cracking knuckles...stretching legs...okeydokey...time for a flame war)

Who you calling new guy? I've been here way before most of you. I was here in '02 when Koffee Brown was a mod. Her & I had the same Sirrus.

Don't worry....my profile shows I joined in '08, and I only have 100 post counts. For those who know....will know. I think Siu knows why I'm "new". But.....for those who don't. Oh well.

I like this Eddie guy. No battle at all. And that's official! :roflmao2:

That's why you should start using the word more often. Maybe it'll help prevent you from hitting a brick wall here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=534158) and here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=534827). Maybe you should stop running into walls. Seems like it's causing a little back pain (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=545272)?

PS - I will abuse you on my average bike with knobby 1.95" tires on a 30 mile road race (even though you're on your ultra high end OCR3). If you want to make that official, come to NYC and try to follow me for 30 miles in Manhattan traffic.

You're so right. If I had listened to you when posting those it would've gone something like this:

The Officially Pretentious Fixie-To-Stumpy M2-To Roadie-To-Help-Me-Adjust-My-Fork Thread
Me: "Hey I bonked real hard on a ride yesterday. Anyone know why?"
Me, five minutes later: "No responses? What are you dooshbags doing all day? I didn't know that road cycling was in such a decline. It's alright though, because I already know how to trackstand."
Everyone Else: "Nothing you say makes sense."
Me: "Screw you guys, I've been here longer than all of you. I'm taking my ball and going home..."

Edit: I didn't even see this little gem riding under your first comment. "PS - I will abuse you on my average bike with knobby 1.95" tires on a 30 mile road race (even though you're on your ultra high end OCR3). At least I didn't dig my OCR3 out of a dumpster and then pay the hobo standing next to it $200.

Hahaha. You're beginning to sound like your wife Jackie. Or maybe it's the books from your MBA classes that's causing you to be unofficial?

So you're jealous of my hot wife and higher education now, besides my bike. You can also look me up on Facebook, and Google me if you feel like being even more of a schmuck.

Do you reallly want me to post up pics of you?

PS - good for you for paying full MSRP for your bike. In this economy, we need people to buy stuff at MSRP. Thanks for your help.

Please post pics of me. The world needs to see them. I actually have already posted at least one pic of myself, so go right ahead. Also, congratulations on using Google. Here's a link to help you (http://lmgtfy.com/?q=ddac+is+an+ugly+prick), if you're still a bit unsure.

Fun, eh? So is that why, when you can't think of anything relevant to say in the thread, you delve into my blog and start asking me about my wife, personal life, and threaten to post pictures of me to somehow embarrass me in some way? I think you're the one who's being a little touchy, and stalkery to be honest. You should probably get a life.

I am completely new to this forum, but isn't this forum about bikes, not hot wives, higher education, and personal bragging? I know it doesn't come off strong from a newbie, but still...
