I would appreciate input on my choices of 3 bikes from lbs

Primary use would be Fitness. I'm looking for good handling, comfort, durabilty, and esthetics play a role also.

All appear to be well built It's hard for me to judage based on spins around their lot.

Litespeed Arenberg full 105 (2002 Model he will deal)

Lemond Versailles (can't find it on their site) Steel/Carbon, Ultegra

Felt F50

What are your impressions of the bikes when you ride them?

Wide range of great bikes - full Ti, combo steel/carbon and full aluminum - all very good, but very different choices.

I agree with Late - have you ridden them? Hard to believe you wouldn't come away with a preference.

Brief spins around the smooth lot don't tell me much. We set them up on the trainer and each seemed to fit pretty well. It's kinda funny but the shifting on the Litespeed seemed to be the most crisp.

Tomorrow I'll ge the chance to take out for a little longer ride.

1st imperssions have me leaning towards the litespeed but he's gonna have to come off the price a little more based on what I've seen. He's currently at 1700. The Versaille is an 05 model so I expect little flexibity there but it's less than the litespeed with "better" drivetrain.

I expect the F50 to feel harsher than either of the other 2 but tomorrow should tell.

With a Litespeed that is a 2002 I would push for a 30 per cent discount from the original price. He cant 'eat' the bike. That would be a good deal/value.

Offer cash and see what happens. Usually sweetens the deal.

What is the Versailles? I've never even heard of that one and I just bought a Zurich.

Appears to be an '05 in the neighborhood or just below a Buenos Aires (maybe a replacement?) - here is a link to somebody selling it: http://eddys.com/site/itemdetails.cfm?ID=5431&Catalog=39&sort=Price

FYI, I bought an 02 Arenburg with a Litespeed fork, Mavic Open Pro Wheelsmith wheels and full ultrega double in Jan 03 for $1,550. I had a steel bike before and I like the ride of the Litespeed. Having a lifetime frame warranty ain't bad either.

and my choice turned out to be the litespeed. We fitted each and I took them out for some more extended riding.

The versaille is slotted below the buenos aries and it shows in some of the more obscure components frame appears to be the same. The bike slotted in second. It was nice and tight, responsive but a little more harch than the arenberg.

The f50 was even more harsh feeling but felt more integrated than the lemond.

The Litespeed met my expectations in ride and fit perfectly out of the box. We exchanged the casette for an ultegra with 12-25 spread and tweaked all the adjustments added some shimano spd-sl pedals, Vetta V100 and I was out the door for $1400.00

I'm in the process of fitting the V100 and watching the 7th stage then it's out for a nice ride.

Thanks for the input
