Hi all,
I just got a Polar S720i and am very happy with it. However, I have a question regarding the software.
I set up an exercise set that consisted of a one-minute warmup followed by a three-mile time trial. When I analyze the report in the software, I only care about the information from the time trial. However, the software gives me the statistics on the one-minute warmup as well. I am concerned that this one minute is skewing my averages. Anyone know of a way to just get the report to cover the time trial, so I can get my averages to not include the warmup?
Thanks,
Dan

turn off the computer during warmup
<off topic> I've heard that cat eye has the new model, wireless + HR coming on August for about $270. Having use Cat eye 8 and really like it, I might consider to buy it over Polar 720, there is PC software kit but costs additional $80 </off topic>.
I'm curious about Polar though, I love to have PC feature.
It is easy to do what you want. When you are viewing the HR curve for the exercise, notice the blue bar at the bottom of the graph. This is the selection range. Right click underneath the bar and it will go away. Then, use the left mouse button to drag across the time region you want to use. You should see the blue bar as you drag. You must drag below the time axis. If you like, you can select more than one time range by clicking and dragging more areas. When you close the HR curve window, you will be asked if you want to save your changes. Click on Yes and the next report you run will use only the selected area of the chart. You will also see averages based on your selections when you are viewing the HR curve.
If you leave the entire exercise unselected, then the software will treat it as if it was all selected.
Remember to change your selections back if you want to include the entire exercise in other reports.
BTW, I got a 720i a couple weeks ago. I ordered from heartratemonitorsusa.com and actually ordered the 710i to save about $30 since the only real difference is the metal case on the 720i. When it came, they sent me a 720i for the 710i price. Sweet!
