Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Here's some practical advice that I'm finally taking myself.

Don't to anything till you arrive at your destination.

The other day, I arrived at the library. About 30 feet from my destination, I began to unclip and put my cleat covers on. A car started to back out and I was pretty far from the brakes.

In another incident, I began to turn off my lights whereas I was already in my neighborhood. Not really a "close call", but not a good event either.

Don't worry about saving that 30 seconds of battery life or 15 seconds of time. Wait till you're there.

Any similar stories?

Nope. Kinda strange habits you have/had there.

Zipping down the road up the driveway while the garage door was opening and then clipping the bottom of the door with my head knocking me off of my bike. Other than that I got nothin'
