I just bought a cannondale 600 sr. don't really know how old it is , but got it pretty cheap, sure some paint and scratches exist, might be 8 to 10 years old. has shimano 105, that looks in decent shape, tires look alright. I'm just wondering if I have to spend another 100.00 to 200.00 or more on it to get things where I would be happier, what should I look for. I don't really trust my lbs, I think if I went in with specific things that need to be addressed, may have a better chance of communicating clearly. Haven't ridden a lighter bike like this in a long, long time. I think I got the right size, 5'9" and it's 53 cm. Didn't want something that makes me reach to far. standover is 30". I recently road a brand new specialized something that cost over 8 grand, I just wanted to look at what sizes I should try, this one was 58cm , and it felt like leaning forward far to much, it was so responsive almost scared me. Anyway it's almost like I'm brand new to this so please go easy on me, I do love the freedom and simplicity of riding a bicycle.

So what's the question? Should you upgrade a bike you just bought that looks pretty good?

105 is good, scratches will ride fine, ten years is nothing.

You want some advice? Don't buy Enron stock...
