As we all know cycling can leave you with extremely weak bones so I'm starting to take calcium supplements after each ride but I don't know how much to take... 1 pill is 600mg so how many should I take after rides?

I suggest taking a cal/mag supplement because your body needs magnesium to absorb the calcium, info found here:

The article says recommends at least 1,000mg of calcium a day, so I guess 2 pills?

Look up the official RDA.

Also you can have a blood test done to tell you if you're calcium deficient or not.

Tums are cheap and have both cal and mag. I keep them on the bike because my stomach gets upset while riding on occasion. But you could also take one after riding
as part of the recovery thing.

I have a felling that I am going to regret asking this. What does staring at the sun have to do with calcium?

The video is long and it is # 1 of 2 and he has other videos so you have to be dedicated to watch it, but to answer your question... he explains why it is important to be exposed to sunlight (on your skin) in order that Vitamin D is produced which is important in the absorption of calcium. Also the need to avoid the strong UV at midday.
