Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Bars

I ride a MonoCog is the city, and i've got it with street slick tires on it. I find the stock bars on the bike to be way uncomfortably wide, so much so that I find myself holding onto the inside of the rise by the stem most of the time. This becomes a pain of course, if I have to stop quickly, and then rearrange my hands. It's also a pain, in the city, because the bars are too wide to get through tight traffic. Can you recommend a shorter riser bar? or even if bullhorns are possible to put on there? will this set up work, or will it compromise my control of the bike too much? thanks.

this is an afterthought, but i'm not sure what my tires had to do with this post. but anyways...

find a hacksaw or a pipe cutter and shorten yr bars to where they feel comfortable for you. narrow bars are a good thing in the city. check out the bike polo guys, they know the deal...
