Hi. If anyone can give me a hand on identifying my bike, I would really appreciate it. It is not painted, an din I think its an 800 or 830 series. It looks like these photos:

It came with these parts

Derailleur:
suntour XCM + XCD (front)

Brakes:
diacomp XCE xpert

Seat:
Avocet touring

Rims:
araya 26x1.5 HE vp-20

shifter:
suntour accushift plus

The bike is in okay condition. Lots of scratches, but everything works well. It looks like the previous user had no clue about bikes considering he tightened the quick release by screwing it down and not using the lever action. I've tried google for a long time and I could not find much info, so if anyone can shed some light on the value of this bike, I'd appreciate it. Thank you. :-)

Sorry, no help with ID'ing it.

Looks like the value is $102.50. ;)
For a very tall person looking for a good quality bicycle, that sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Good find. :)

edit: never mind, I thought the link was to the bike you just bought.

The links is not what i bought. My bike just looks like them. Anyways, I bought it for 70 bucks including a bike pump. I thought it was a good buy, but I just want to make sure the components on it are okay. Any expert opinion on my purchase? :-)

It's hard to help if you don't give us any actual pictures of your bike.

It is a trek 800 the other links look like an 830. Those are at least 2 different bike links you posted. It is a pretty old bike and if you paid $70 for it, thats not too much money. Ride it and be happy.

Grab the S/N off the bottom bracket and check out this webpage (http://www.vintage-trek.com/SerialNumbers.htm). Although the website is intended for Trek road bikes, it may provide some useful information appropriate to MTB frames as well. Good luck.

Do they function properly? If so, they're okay.

(not an expert, really, just another rider)

Not to mention just 2 tires for my bike cost upwards of $100. You paid $70 for a complete; although old bike you'll do just fine ;)
