Foo - What's wrong with my Shih-tzu's?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Mrs. Z is in the kitchen brewing up some salsa, and they're out there begging for cherry tomatoes.
If someone from the AKC were to find out, they'd have their dog cards revoked.
Anyone else have pets that eat strange (but not hazardous) things?

My dog believes that any activity in the kitchen is worth his undivided attention. He also believes that any item is worth a quick bite, he'll spit it out if he decides it isn't food.
So no. Nothing wrong with the dogs. :)

I used to have a lab that would eat the weirdest things. He'd beg for veggies if I was cutting up some....he'd eat any I gave him.
Does their own feces count as strange food or is it more familiar?

Food. Not formerly food.

My sister's dog will devour pineapple.
USAZorro - C'mon, you can't say "Shih-Tzu" w/o a pic!!
Zebby will come running in from any room/floor in the house when he hears the cracking of a banana peel about to expose his favorite fruit. Only a tiny bit, though - lots of sugar. The other thing that gets his juices flowing is any activity on the cutting board - the flying bits that hit the floor are fair game. The only other way to get him into a room is to laugh hysterically, as if you're having a good time at a party w/o him. He'll appear in two seconds - he's the ultimate busybody.

Incidentally, if your fantasy is hoards of pretty young girls running towards you, exclaiming: "You're sooo cute", get one of these, esp. in puppy form. A more potent attractant than a Lamborghini.

My mom's Schnauzer eats all sorts of vegetables. He begs for tomatoes too.

As cute as they are in real life, getting still pictures that capture them the way they appear in life is quite difficult.

True enough. In fact, in the four years we've had him, there is exactly one pic I like of him in motion. Chasing and being chased - w/ his Shih-Tzu pals at the monthly meetup.

^^ You let your dog play with skunks????? EWWWWW
My dog licks the dishes in the dishwasher if I leave the door open...
He eats whatever you put in front of him, generally.. after all.. he's a dog, and that's what dogs do.

My late Zuhon, Fluffy, had a penchant for popcorn. So much so that if she saw a bag of unpopped corn she would start begging.

The problem is that they are Shih Tzus... and I feel your pain.
And joy.
Dumb as she is, I love this little ball of fluff that lives at my feet.

We have muscadine grapes, I wonder if my dog eats those too?
I looked them up and they appear to be the same as my grape? I never knew the name, well, I forgot :o we bought them from a vineyard/winery in Cali. (over the interweb that is) :)

then your vines are most likely not muscadine grapes. Muscadines have a very thick skin and make crappy wine. People do make wine with them, and some even drink it, but its awful stuff. Muscadines are vitis rotundifolia. Wine grapes are usually vitis vinifera or a hybrid variety.

My dog is afraid of everything except meat products and asian food(Jap dog). She will growl at things.

Hmmmm? they do have thick skin, and the skin seems to have most if not all of the sweetness, the "meat" itself seems to have little to no sweetness to it!

My ex-wife and I had a dog that went crazy for orange juice. Whenever I had some, I would leave just a little in the glass and let her have it. She would like the glass for quite some time...

Those tomatoes seem to be giving those little critters some sort of lazer eye power.....can they cut open a bank vault with those things?
