Introductions - Hey. I'm new

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi everyone! I am just starting biking and am looking for support in my new endeavor. I am from Knoxville, Tennessee and have a mountain bike but am planning on switching to a road bike as soon as I can afford one. Where are you all from and what kind of bike do you have? Do you have any recommendations for a new road bike for a beginner? Thanks, in advance.

How much would you plan on spending?
They go from about $450 to $10,000.
A decent bike would cost you about $1,000 minimum.
Give us some idea of your price range and we can give you suggestions.
Greetings and welcome to the forums! I ride a Rans Tailwind recumbent. I also have a Trek 1000 road bike but it hasn't been out of the garage since I got the recumbent. Cycling is an excellent way to stay fit and enjoy the outdoors. Have fun and be safe. There are a lot of people on the forum that can make recommendations when you are ready to make a purchase.

weclome to the boards!
I have a Diamondback Outlook, and have a Raleigh Talus on the way.
I thought I wanted a roadbike too...then realized the way a mountain bike felt was practically perfection...so MTB it is for me....
....now to get a second set of wheels for it to put slicks on....once i can afford to....
