I have been riding a schwinn suburban made fixie for 6 months or so now and i am looking for a new stem. Problem is when i was putting the bike together i could only find one stem that would fit from my dads old huffy that was outside for 20+ years. Is this a 1" quill stem or am i missing something here? Where can i find a stem that will fir the steerer tube or this bike? oh ya, looking for a stem with some drop not rise.

Thanks
Craig

You need a 21.1 mm diameter stem. Now known as 'BMX' size. I checked Niagara and Bikepartsusa -- each offer ~9, most for BMX but some for 'cruisers', still for sale new. Bet there'll be some nice ones used on *bay &c. Almost all the cruiser & older handlebars have 25.4 (1") clamp size so no worries if the handlebar clamp size isn't given. edit -- oops - drop not rise - maybe used is the place to look

Welcome to the world of Schwinn. Not much on the old Schwinns was standard. I have a Suburban myself.
