Hey All-

Has anyone ever ridden on both Rhyno Lites or Bontrager Clydes, and how did they compare for ride and durability?

Many thanks!

I can attest to the strength of the Rhyno's but I've no clue about the Clydes.

Mine are 32 hole laced 3 cross to a set of XT (750 series) hubs. 36 would be stronger but these handle my 250 lb frame when I take them off road. Mind you I'm not gentle.

What size wheels?26" why? That's the only size they come in.LINK (http://www.sun-ringle.com/ShowRoom/MTB/Rims/rhynomtb.html)

Methinks he is looking for something sturdier in a 700c but this is just a guess.

Meanwhile back on the 26" front, I noticed on Sun's site that they list (http://www.sun-ringle.com/prods/mtbrims.html) a 48 hole Rhyno Lite. I guess the problem then is finding something as rugged as the XT's in 48 holes.

Do the spokes get thinner at that high a hole count?

Yeah there's a 48 hole but in my never so humble opinion that's complete overkill unless you're running a tandem. (That's what it's intended for) To the spokes get thinner? No the spaces between the spokes get smaller.

not really. the 48 hole tandem hubs offered by shimano are at least xt level.phil woods are probably better yet. I have had a set of the shimano hubs and they are very sturdy and uber reliable.
I had them laced to a pair of sun ryno rims(not ryno lites)and with me,my camping gear and the bike, it is/was a sizable load.they always performed great and I no problems whatsoever. however they are probably overkill unless you are over 300# and ride real hard.
