14.35 miles to the LBS and back to have the "V-brakes" adjusted on my "new to me", 2004 Cannondale Adventure 1000 Hybrid, I found for, $150.00 and some other minor stuff. For some reason I have a problem adjusting the V-brakes, I never had with the Cantilevers??

Rode 10km to the Giant shop to buy a new chain and cassette - figured that with over 6000km on them, it was probably time to have them replaced. Then rode another 50km after that. :)

I just trained on my (new Nashbar Adjustable Fluid) trainer for 45min.

But ... is it a hybrid trainer?

My trainer is kinda hybrid after I completely took it apart and rebuilt the handlebar to be a sort of aerobar style bike with the HR pickup still on he hands :)

15 miles yesterday = a leisurely pace today as I begin to ramp up my mileage after a few weeks of very light riding. Shot 230+ still photos using a pic every 30secs mode on the gopro hero I was gifted these holidays past. Then shot a scenic finish of my last 12mins riding in 1080p video (multi quality youtube link below). Amazing 50+ degree weather here! Rode to Corona Park and did 2 laps around Meadow Lake and when I returned to Astoria I shot the video below, East River, Hellgate Bridge, Triboro Bridge, and Astoria Park (where I cramped! Which I never do!).

It's huge, and can (albeit crappily) link up to the BK/Queens greenway trails that can take you further east, almost to Nassau county.

32.2 miles on a 2.5 mile short loop just south of my home. I was on call at work so I couldn't be more than 5 minutes from my car so I just picked a nice section of road and did intervals into and with the wind. Any outdoor riding in Northern Minnesota in January is a good day.

45º Weather. I went for an 8 mile ride after school. It snowed on Saturday. I thought the path would be clear by now, but it wasn't. I had an average speed of about 11mph with a sprint of like 27mph (there were some clear sections). I almost fell a couple of times. Next time I go for a ride with snow on the ground, I am putting my hybrid/touring tires on. Riding with my 28mm road slicks was disastrous. I saw a couple of hardcore commuters. I yelled "hardcore commuters!" and one of them yelled back "yeah!"

Our mostly snowless winter turned white this afternoon, with a light snow falling for several hours. I took my hybrid with studded tires on one of my favorite routes, a loop past many lakes. They're all finally frozen, and several folks were out ice fishing. Road shoulders were snow covered with half an inch, which is fun to ride through for a change of pace. Just under two miles from home, there was a loud "bang" and my saddle disappeared. The bolt had snapped, and parts were strewn in the snowy road. I found them all and dropped them in the pannier, and rode home standing up. 32.2 miles in the snow at 19F. While a good ride, I do miss July. :-)

I should have been studying for finals... But I procrastinate :o.

Did the same ride I did yesterday, but took the light rail back home because my back started hurting because I injured it on Friday... My back was fine yesterday..

Btw, I ordered an 808 #11 keychain camera that I will attach to my helmet so I can have some ride videos. It only has a 250mah battery, which equates to ~40min. This is not long enough, as my rides average about 2 hours. I bought a 1350mah external battery that also happens to have a solar panel on it. I will probably end up attaching it to my helmet, but if not, it will be plugged into the camera and stay in my jersey pocket.

Yesterday (Sunday) I went for a quick ride up into the mountains. There is a particular mountain that none of my friends have ridden as they believe the local story that it's next to impossible to ride. Not just for it's steepness, but mainly because of the road condition. (broken up)

I set off up there just to take a look (on my hybrid) and I feel confident that I could climb it with my triple.

Anyway, I'm pissed off because it was beautiful up there with snow just off the side of the road, and when I took some pics of a wonderful small shrine in the forrest with snow on it's roof, my phone pooed it's self and I couldn't get it to work again until I got home, hence no pics other than a strange warped one I took lower down.

I biked to school this morning to take my last two midterms of the semester. After the tests, I took a ride with my friend. It was 18mi r/t. Half of it, we had a really intense headwind, but on the way back, we had an AMAZING tailwind. I was cruising along at 20mph with minimal effort. On the way back, I stopped at the Cherry Creek mall (literally 50ft away from the Cherry Creek trail) to go to the Apple Store. My MacBook Pro (from here on out, will be referred to as MBP) charger stopped working (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1310070) earlier this week, but because it was midterms week, I have not been able to get a new one. I have been sharing my mom's MacBook charger with her this past week. I walked into the Apple Store and pulled the defective charger out of my backpack. The genius looked up my MBP's serial number in their database and replaced the charger free under warranty. I got a new charger today AND I got to take a ride! It was a good day, except for the midterms part.

Here are some pictures of my ride (it was pretty bad because the trail was COVERED in water in a lot of places... I should get fenders.)

I spent today at the final stage of the tour down under, 1st round of the world tour.
It was a 20 lap race around the city and 90km in total won by Green edge racing an aussie team in there 1st year of competition. I also met a guy from France who was there for the race, he asked about my Peugeot that I was on that day because he sells them back home and he confirmed to me it was made in France because some were made in Canada, he thought I had imported it myself and had no idea they were distributed in Australia many decades ago. He was very happy to see it.
I got on to the center of the course and was able to see them go by up to 3 times per lap riding by bike to different points on the course.

Well took it out for it's first real ride without adjusting etc.. And could not be more happy with the Rigid Forks, the bike rides just awesome. Those 26 x 1.6 semi slicks barely touch the road. I did not know what I was missing always having to have suspension bikes. That Trek saddle seems very comfortable already, surprised for a factory saddle. Richard : )

63km loop ride down to the river and back. A little on the cool side (~3C) and a brisk north wind in my face for the last 8km. Still managed an average riding speed of 28.4km/h, which is pretty good. ^^^Alpha, I would have cursed the guy who buzzed you.... you're a better man then I.

My mother recently moved upstate to a town just outside Albany.

I'm visiting for a few days and borrowed a local friends 20yr old Specialized Crossroads.

This charming beater featured wheels out of true and a front derailleur that didn't always fully cooperate with me.

It was my first time riding with bar ends and I liked them but I still do not think they are "for me".

I had tried to pack the necessary clothing for a long cold ride but had underestimated nonetheless.

Leaving my ski jacket and Boggs boots home was my downfall.

As the snow really started to come down at mile 25 I felt something wasn't quite right with my body.

Arriving home completing the nearly 30 mile trip I couldn't immediately place this nauseous woozy feeling I was experiencing.

I KNEW I was hungry so slammed a banana with little effect. I then had a small glass of skim milk and a tall glass of water, still not very helpful. When I sat down and began to go through my photos I somehow felt that I needed to lie down so I wrapped myself in three blankets but within minutes experienced a very intense chill from my toes to head followed by goose bumps. I called to my mother (who had been concerned and checking on me every 5 or so minutes) for a small glass of juice; again, this did not seem to help. FINALLY it dawned on me that I must be experiencing mild hypothermia.

I call for a cup of tea.

I drink the Early Grey with a dollop of milk.

In 60 secs I feel 100% better and I'm up on my feet bouncing around like nothing happened.

At about mile 20 I thought to stop for a hot beverage but I thought stopping might be worse, and that it might be best to just power through. In retrospect, I should have stopped. Hypothermia can cloud your judgement, which may have been the case here....

This trip went from Delmar to Green Island and back which incorporated part of the Mohawk Hudson River Hike/Bike Trail.

I shot 2100+ pics with a pic every 2 seconds mode on my GoPro Hero.

I had not gotten around to applying Rain-X to the case yet so the last 300 or so pics were too blurry with snow melt to be any good....
