Want to know which bike shop is good for me to shop for my first road bike, an entry level one. Also how much should I expect for an entry level road bike? If I am targeting something $750 or less (before tax), is that too cheap?
Thanks

$750 is what you would expect to pay for a decent entry level road bike. They can quickly get more expensive from there. I live in Cambridge, ON so I'm not sure which Bike Store is decent in TO. Are you going to use your bike for weekend riding or commuting?

It depends on what part of TO you are in. There are several in Bloor Village between High Park and Jane. Pick a shop that is helpful and can give good service after you buy.

Call around to the stores listed on the TBN websit (toronto bicycling network) and ask what kind of a fitting they do if you want to buy a new bike. At this point, price shouldn't have to come up as a fitting is a prerequisite to buying a new bike. After asking 3-5 shops you should have a good idea as to who takes it seriously. Hopefully the one you like the sound of sells bikes in your price range. Good luck.

Hey, I just picked up an entry level road bicycle myself. I got a Trek 1.2 from Bayview cycles, I think they have 2 left, not sure what the sizes are, but I'm 5'7 and got fitted with a 54cm frame. Tax and everything came to about ~$900 something. I was also looking at a eithe the Devinci S1, another entry bike, which is around $900 as well at skii's and bikes and a Canondale, but I didn't get a chance to find that bike either. If it helps there's a bicycle end of season sale at the EX next month for a $5 entry. Hope this helps!
