Well, a forum I frequent a lot is this place called Overclock.net and it is a computer enthusiast forum. We have a system where inside the User CP, you can input all components in your computer. You can also put in multiple computers, but for size reasons they let you have only a main 'rig' to display. Rather than asking 'What's your processor' or 'Whats your case', they just see the signature and immediately know whats in the computer.

For more exaples, you can look in here:

Since bikes have the same amount of components really as a custom computer, I think this system would work flawlessly. Both Overclock.net and Bikeforums.net are... phpBB? so you could find out what their system is and add it on to here.

edit: I hope it doesn't really fall under spamming since I have a link to a forum, because bikes don't really have much to do with computers.

Well, that would sound easy enough. Trouble is that this program is much older than PhPBB, YABB and others. I believe this was the original board setup for Audiokarma and probably the small computer forums I have been on for several years (now using Invision Power Board). You can't just add code like cheese on a hamburger. You have to code the cheese to interface the patty and the bun then seemlessly mesh with the condiments, the onion and the sesames.

I believe what you are thinking about is that many members like to link to pages showing their bikes, for sale items and blogs. Unfortunately, sometime they haven't been able to format them well to the sig file space and the bottom gets clipped from time to time. Image files are employed by the more tech-savvy but it can be challenging sometimes.

If the window were given a few more pixels and a forum to help design a great sig file were offered, would that meet your needs? I can only ask as I am not an administrator nor am I the IT department but I have thought about it for sometime having seen these ill-fitting files.

By the way, it's really not as necessary to know what your bikes are as we ask questions addressing the one that concerns us and BF members as a habit copiously post pictures and data.

The rationale for the computer system list is more to seek others with similar equipment for advice than being an inventory or a brag list...stereo forum members tend to use it as a brag box.
