My wife and I went riding yesterday. It was the first time I took out my new(used) vintage Univega Grand Record that I picked up off CL.

She rode my Specialized MTB.

She now has the vintage bug as she fell in love with my Univega but its too big for her.

Searching CL, Saw this had been posted this morning and call the guy up. Going to go look at it later. He's asking $85 for it..Ladies Panasonic 500 Sport

What do you folks think ?

Looks worth eighty-five bucks to me. Obviously, you'll be going over it very closely for damage, and one or the other of you will need to ride it to see if it rides okay. Preferably yourself if you're the more experienced cyclist. Even though it's a ladies' frame, the range of seat height adjustment must be suitable for your good lady, and there's also the X-factor - does she like it? Does it speak to her? This is something we should never overlook. When you enter into a relationship with a new bicycle, you have to be compatible.

I'd say if you can get three fitty for her your are coming out ahead.

Only if she wants it. Its a pretty low end bike, worth $85.

My wife would expect something comparable to what I have, and this Panasonic is not up to the standard of your Univega. At the very least, I would look for a mixte for her.

I built up a Centurion mixte for my wife. Earned me some points for sure.

I would tread lightly. I think it would be very dangerous for me to let my wife know I traded her for a bike!

But, it looks like a great buy.
