Can you fit a quill stem to it? If so, that would help to make it 'feel' retro. This forum is full of pics - take a look through the Classic and Vintage thread.

Get bars with a classic bend. Nitto makes some nice ones. They also make this:

Nitto Noodle. Ambrosio, Performance sells a very similar one in alloy.

I'd say Cinelli, but then you're at a 26.4 clamp, most of the time.

Hello steck. how do you want to make it look 'Vintage'? perhaps if you could post a pic and explain your desire better.

if you want to get a pre mid '80s look get some down tube shifters, non aero brake levers. (but look for late '80s Campagnolo ones that can be used aero/non aero they are a bit bigger and more comfortable) then get some nice 36h wheels with silver box section rims. tubolars would be even better. barend shifter would look cool too.

I have a hipster wannabe (it has gears off a mtb but flat bar skinny bike on 700x23's) and I'm hating the flat bars. I'm liking the Mustach or Porteur bars. http://www.velo-orange.com/vopoha.html http://www.niagaracycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=412574 (click the picture and it will show up)

You can sometimes find Cinelli bar/stem combos on Ebay. Assuredly classic.

go for some dropped moustache bars

yeah, thats what i'm thinking...some nice moustache bars will give it a unique look.

i guess i would have to change out the shifters and brakes levers ? or think of something clever.

How retro do you want to go? How about 1960, with OEM track bars and Ambrosio adjustable-reach stem on a road bike?

Road brake levers will work on moustache bars, although if you're keeping brifters, that could be weird.

well i want to get away from the traditional race bar...and into somthing different.. like even a riser mountain bar, or regular touring bar, like i see on the older schwinn varsity type bike...

OH ok well what are you starting with? do you have pics? does you bike currently have 'brifters'? (brakelever/shifter combo) or down tube shifters? this could get difficult as brifters would be very hard to use on an a flat or Moutache type handlebar. so you may need to buy new shifters and brakelevers. but I think the moustahce bars would give the best 'vintage' look.

show us what your starting with. that will help us suggest what most economical and easiset to do

yeah they are brifters...but one could get used to tapping down the brake lever, instead of to the side, no? !!

It's an eBay item. It's made by Titan. I have a second chance offer, but it will cost me $65 plus Shipping from The Netherlands. I have another day to decide.

Is it that color? If so, you need the Cinelli Alter stem!

http://728fixedgear.files.wordpress.com/2009/01/shoes4u4u-img500x500-1226334474uvklhj66950.jpg

Then bars and grips like this?

Or a wrap on traditional bars like this:

You need the 7/8" Nitto Moustache bars to use mountain levers. They're a little harder to find.
