today on my ride i saw 2 different men riding tandems while a woman was on the back with her feet up! i also saw 2 more instances of men riding while a woman was seated on the frame. and i saw 1 where a guy was sitting while his girlfriend was out of the saddle pedaling! i wish i could get a free ride once in a while :)

That's called drafting. :p
And if you ever see me in the park, feel free, cause I get a slight aerodynamic push too.

When I'm not cycling, I'm driving my humongous SUV...

no point paul, i'm just sharing a humourous (to me) observation i saw on my ride today. it's funny to see grown adults doing stuff like this.

That's a lot of tandems to see on one ride. Where were you? What were all of those tandem riders doing?

So that explains it then. You never see lazy tandem riders here in the midwest. Everybody does their share.

Attend a tandem rally sometime . . . have ridden with over 600 other tandems!
Pedal on 2-gether!

That's why the divorce rate is so low there.

Yeah, we had 660 or so teams at the Midwest Tandem Rally in Dublin, Ohio. (No loafers). I couldn't ride that year because I had seriously broken my collar bone so my wife and I sagged the route and hung out with our friends at the hotel. We have our hotel reserved, but haven't sent in our registration yet for Columbus, In.

too bad about the collar bone. that tandem rally sounds like a lot fun. is it a group ride, or a race?
