Well, I joined the dark side. Got my first bent yesterday after a lot of research, some misinformation, and a lot of opinions.
Based on the advice I got here, I went on over to Van Nuys to see Dana at Bent Up Cycles. I was not disappointed. Dana took very good care of me.
Having only test rode a Rans V2 and a Stratus, and a Force 5, I went over without too many expectations. After several hours in the shop, during which the graciously built up a bike for me to test ride, I walked out with a Bachetta Strada.
Now all I have to do is get out and ride the thing. I already have put about 20 miles on the thing, and am looking forward to more. Next is putting on some new pedals and experiencing clipping in and out on a bent. That should be interesting.
Thanks again for the advice everyone.
I cant wait to shed some more of this weight so I can get a new bike.....:D:D:D
