This was crossposted to the commuter forum, but realized the rim sizes might be better for this forum...

Has anyone ever ridden on both Rhyno Lites and Bontrager Clydes, and how did they compare for ride and durability?

Many thanks!

Can't respond to the Clydes, but I'm running a set of Rhyno Lites on my bike. They're a good strong wheel at a decent price. I bought them as a lightweight alternative to my downhill rims (Mavic D321's). Obviously, they have a bit more heft to them than a XC set of wheels. The rear has held up well. I'm a big guy and my rear wheels take a lot of abuse. The front wheel tacoed, but I think ANY wheel would've with the hit I took. (I hit the bottom of a drop with my weight too far forward and falling sideways.)

I replaced it with another Rhyno Lite and all is well.

No complaints about the Rhyno's and their price is right!

A2 you should be running TrailPimps, tough, tough wheelset. I would say Rhyno Lites for you Konasmoker.

Trailpimps are sweet, but a bit overkill for what I've been riding with my current set-up. I have a set of D321's laced to some Profile Racing disc hubs that I'm running on my hardtail. (Ironhorse Sinister).

well i am leaning towards a rhyno lyte because of cost, perhaps the 48 hole. the question is now, what sturdy bomb proof hubs are there with 48?

Why EXACTLY do you need 48's?

well i am a large mammal, and i am going to make this my full grocery run bike. i will also probably end up putting a Flatbed (http://www.paulcomp.com/basket.html) on the front.

The Flatbed looks pretty neat. One thing, they say it can only be mounted to rigid forks but the lower-right most pic on that link shows it on a front suspension. What's the real deal?

i think you can email them. i can understand why they want them on a rigid fork since the arms going down would flex.
