I'm currently running the 5th Element air shock on my extra large SC Blur Classic. It's done me well for the last 4-5 years, after a costly rebuild 18 months ago. However, the shock needs another overhaul which I'm reluctant to do, given the cost of a new shock on the market for comparitively the same price. I have the opportunity to buy a brand new 2009 model Fox RP23 (same length and stroke, 8.785 x 2.0). Is the rp23 compatible with the SC Blur Classic? Feedback would be welcome. Thanks.

Yeah, Same length and stoke it should be fine. I believe it's diameter is smaller than the fifth Element?
So it should pivot fine.

Thanks for your feedback. I suspect the rp23 is smaller, but can check out those details online. thanks again

Also, I see many 2009 rp23 shocks with either the red markings (rebound tune), as opposed to the blue markings (compression tune) on the side of the shock. Are these different shocks?
