Hey there! I found a Schwinn World Sport ladies bike on craigslist selling for $80. I looked through the schwinn catalog that people keep posting and haven't been able to find it. I also looked through the 90's catalog also, no luck. I found this listing on Ebay that looks exactly like the bike I'm looking at.

The listing on ebay says 10-12 years old, so 97-99? Still couldn't find any info on it. Anyone have any ideas? And any opinions on whether it's worth $80? Any help would be great! Thanks!

The reason you are not finding it is the bike is much older. Need better pictures than that auction has for sure, but it is a 1980s bike

Its worth $80, but it is a really low end bike. This model changed a lot over the years, ones 1984 or newer got somewhat better.

If you want to look at 1997 to 1999 bikes, the best place is bikepedia. You will see that that era bikes are much more modern than that auction.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not necessarily looking for a newer bike, just a good bargain heh. I live about 2 miles to work and want to bike, so I just need something that can handle the commute. I live in Atlanta, a few hills here and there. I posted the Ebay link because it has much clearer and bigger pictures than the original CL post has.

Should work fine for this application. Just make sure it is in ready to ride condition, because even relatively minor rehab on a bike can be expensive unless you do the work yourself.

Bill, Kayum6,
Unbelievable, I've got the same bike, identical, but not as nice, in my inventory waiting it's turn to be refurbished. I traced it to the 1980 catalog. I'll see if I can find the page.

Here ya go! The "mens" model is shown in burgundy, but a "ladies" step through frame is shown in the upper left corner. The step through frame was available in burgundy.

EDIT: BTW, I agree, it's worth $80 if you've got local pickup. I would not go over $100 for that bike under any conditions.
I just read the ad. The owner claims it's 10-12 years old .
