I was wondering what are some LBS's in Queens? I only know of this one on Francis Lewis Blvd...

I recently came across Spokesman Cycles (http://spokesmancycles.com/) on Vernon Blvd in Long Island City.
I dropped by there once in July after a failed search of Manhattan shops for a specific brand of cheap bar tape. They had plenty of it, and the guy behind the counter chatted with me about my bicycle setup for a few minutes. They've been open for a long time, though I had never noticed the store, but had just put a sign up.
I think this would quickly become my go-to shop if I lived closer to it.

where can i get some decent 700c -23 tubes for my road bike? is it possible to find a place that sells them for $3 / each? i'd rather by at a lbs than online since the cost of shipping is a little expensive. thank you!
not sure who has what; I always buy tubes in bulk online, along with gels, energy bars, bar tape, tires and that sort of stuff that you go through often...if you get a bunch of it all together once or twice a year the shipping isn't bad.

thanks pgoat! ya i was thinking that too ...at jensonusa i think if u get 10 tubes you pay like 25..+shipping? reason why i dont think i want to do that is because how do i store it? and how long will it last before the rubber goes bad? i dont go through many tubes either...
I think that you should store rubber tubes (and tires) in sealed plastic garbage bags and keep them stored in a cool, dark place (e.g. basement). As long as the rubber doesn't oxidize, they should be good to go when you need them.

yep. I wouldn't go crazy and buy more than you'll need in a year or so. fwiw my tubes have lasted a long long time just fine. Tires are a bit more tricky to store; I usually get folding tires and like to unfold them for storage if I have the space. Again, I try to just anticipate what I will need in the coming 6-12 months or so.
I must be lucky I find that with good tires I rarely get flats and have my back-up tube for over a year.

If you mean Robert's in Flushing they're a good neighborhood LBS. I grew up in Clearview and think all but two of the bikes I ever owned came from that shop - not sure about the tricycle. They've probably been there 50 years or more.
