Does anyone know what kind of Schwinn this is? I received it as a present in the mid 1970's and it was used then.

Thank you Steve

It appears to be a fully chromed late seventies Super Le Tour 12.2 or early eighties Voyageur 11.8. To know for sure, you need to list the manufacturer and model number of the components (derailleurs, crankset, freewheel, brakes, stem, handlebar, wheel hubs and rims, seatpost, saddle) as well as the frame serial number and the four small, lightly stamped digits on the head badge.

Close-up photos of the head lugs, seat cluster, dropouts, and fork crown would also help.

Thank you for your respone. It appears to be a Voyageur.
Stamped on the bottom of the frame is CO23398 and front badge 0870.

Sugino SuperMaxi Crank, Front Shimano Altus, Rear Suntour V-Lux, Seat Post SR, HAndle bars "SAKAE CUSTOM - ROAD CHAMPION" Dia-Comp brakes, Double butted 4130 Chromemoly frame.

I would apprciate any additional information and also where I could find a clearer copy of the spec sheet.

Thank you again

Search is your friend. There is a tremendous amount of information on this bike on the web. Schwinn is probably the best supported brand out there. If you want to search this forum, be sure to check the box "sort by relevance".

Hi Steve,

It's a 1980 Voyageur 11.8. The "0870" on the head badge indicates it was assembled on the 87th day of 1980. The "C0" in the serial number indicates the frame was manufactured in March, 1980. It's a very nice bike (near the top of the line just below the Paramount in 1980), and the fully chromed version has great collector appeal. 1980 was the first year for the Voyageur 11.8, and most of them were built by National/Panasonic in Japan from a design by Schwinn.

Here's more info from the 1980 catalog:
