Hi all - first time poster and newbie here..

i am looking to get an entry level bike for commuting and beginner trails. i am interested in Cannondale F8 after taking a ride at the LBS. the quote i got is $480,
bike specs below,
http://www3.cannondale.com/bikes/09/cusa/model-9FS8.html

I was looking at craigslist (advised in many similar threads) and came across this bike listed at $275,
http://cnj.craigslist.org/bik/1329541817.html

is it worth $275? this bike doesnt have front suspension.. not sure if it is an absolute must for beginners.

and i am not too particular about cannondale or any other brand. just so happens that they are both c'dales.

would greatly appreciate valuable advice/recommendations.

thanks

That's a pretty old bike...looking at probably late 90's. I wouldn't pay $275 for it anyway. I guess front suspension isn't a MUST, since plenty of people ride fully rigid, but it sure is nice to have.

$100-175 it is a Cannondale after all... cheap and old is good...
.
wouldn't spend the money unless you know your going to stick with it
