After finishing up the Pan Mass Challenge a few weeks ago I knew it was time to upgrade my Specialized Body Chemisty saddle. It was great up until 70-80 miles and then it failed pretty quickly and became very uncomfortable. Not the first time, but on the second day it was worse then usual. Since that time I've been on the hunt for a new saddle. After doing a bunch of research I'm thinking of trying the Selle Italia Prolink saddle.
Anyone have experience with this saddle and is it worth the $120. I don't mind the price if its as comfortable as they advertise.
Thoughts?

The only way to find out is to try it yourself. Every butt is different, as is every saddle. What works for somebody else could be a complete torture device for you.

They work well for me. I own 3 of them. LOVE THEM. 2 of mine are the new gel flow style and 1 is the old style without the cut out. I find them to be very comfortable.

However, 80 miles + will still register on your butt in one way or another :)

you sure it's the saddle? how can it be great for 70-80 and then "go bad"?
i've ridden a lot of saddles over the years and in my experience, uncomfortable saddles are detectable after a short ride.
currently riding: selle italia turbo, turbomatic-3, flite gel, and another that i forget (tri-matic?). also have a vetta road saddle on my mtb. there's not much difference in comfort between them but if i were forced to pick just one, it would be the turbomatic.

It's only worth it if it fits your butt, keeps the numbies away, and doesn't cause friction sores. I don't think you can really tell until after the 3rd hour. I try to ride about a century on a new saddle, right away, so as to be able to return it in good shape if it doesn't work out.

the most I have ridden on mine is 90 miles. my "long" rides are usually 50ish. I find it very comfortable. fwiw i use the genuine gel model without the cut out
