Classic & Vintage - '83 Trek 613?

I picked this up a couple of months ago and I'm just now getting around to posting pics. The serial number is half filled with paint but I looked it up (about a couple months ago) and decided that it's probably an '83 613. It seems that there are a brazillian different variations on the 600 series and some of them kind of split hairs so I'm not really too concerned about actually IDing this thing, just wanted to show it off.
Does anyone know what brand the (rusty) top tube cable clamps are? They're about the only thing I'm gonna replace.

The guy said it's all origional exept for the itty bitty third chainring. I think I'm gonna leave that on, though as I just moved to the hilliest part of the Hudson Valley.

Very nice bike. I just picked up an '82 613 a month ago and am loving it. Mine was close to NOS condition. I regreased the hubs & BB, polished out a bit of rust and hit the road. That third chainring of yours interests me. Was that just added to the original crankset? Sometimes I wish mine had a super-low gear to spin my way up some of these hills.

No idea about the cable clamps -- mine has braze-on cable guides for the rear brake.

Woohoo! Love the copper. I'm guessing the cable clamps are Dia Compe - those were the brakes on the early 613. How low is the inner chainring on that puppy? Looks small enough that you get away with a smaller freewheel.

That third ring looks to be just bolted to the origional crank. The guy said that the LBS did it for him when he bought it cause he was gonna ride across the country with all his gear and stuff. He had kids instead. It's a 26. I had kids too but I think it will be nice for towing the little kiddy trailer up hills.
We're about halfway between NYC and Poughkeepsie, a little west of Nyack. Upstate is a bit of an exaggeration but I've heard it said.
They called the color "Chestnut". I think it goes nice with the hoods and tape and gumwalls and stuff.

That 3rd chainring works with the stock derailleurs? Or are the derailleurs on the bike not original?

Hmm. The catologue says Cyclone MkII GT. The one on the bike says Vx (both Suntour). It doesn't seem like that long a cage but it works.

Very nice... the saddle has significant value too. I have that same crankset and they were made for Avocet by Ofmega. They were sold as triples and drilled for the 74bcd ring and another off-size as well (102bcd???) with the outer rings being 144bcd.

So I could put a FOURTH chainring on there!?!?

Maybe an 1982 614. By '83 they went to 600, 620, 630, 640 designations. The '83s also had full panel wraparound ST decals.

I think that your bike is earlier than '82. I had an '82 614 for a little while, and it had Suntour Cyclone M-II derailers, and braze-on brake cable fittings on the top tube. Also the full wrap logopanel on the seat tube. Crank was Sugino AT, brakes Dia-Compe sidepulls.

I was recalling that it claimed to be an 83 but it is in fact an 81. The 81 brochure also specifies a Vx GT derailler (whick doesn't explain the Cyclone up front).
