Need help! Planning a trip to Slick Rock next year. Which campground should I stay at or can I just pick a spot and pitch? What early or late months are best for weather and crowd avoidance?

Jerry -

There are some cool camping spots on the road leading to Poison Spider trail - I believe it goes by the nickname of "Wall Street" (because of all of the vertical faces that people rock climb). Also, I think there is a bunch of stuff along the CO river right outside of town.

Try www.Gorp.com, you should find some info there.

I was there in Oct. 2000. We were camping, and had good weather in general, but it got a good deal below freezing at night.
