Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Rear fenders to fit seat tube (not seatpost)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Seems like I've seen a few bikes around with a rear fender attached to the seat tube of the bike instead of the seatpost. Anybody have a fender mounted like this or know which fenders will work in this configuration. I've got that funky Corima bladed seatpost and I love it, but it isn't particularly good as something to mount a fender on. Hence my wanting to stick one to the seat tube. Ideas?
I know one that does not look too bad, but it is attched to rear seatstays. "SKS RaceBlade", I think it's called

Damn - those look nice, and I've been thinking about getting fenders too....
Too bad I run 25mm tires :
They fit tires 700/18-23
Oh well.

I might be wrong but I think there's "XL" version of these, remember vaguely seeing it in the shop somewhere...?

If you have enough seat tube 'showing' above top tube then you can use headland backscratcher (one with straight blade). I use it on mine and it works great. I replaced the dinky QR with a nut-bolt combo and it is really tight.

If you're happy with a deflector rather than a more conventional fender, I use a mountain cycle accessories rat-tail that hooks on to the seart tube. Because it's relatively flexible, it squeeks in between the seat stays with no problem. I imagine most seat post mounting deflectors could be trimmed to fit if they were more rigid.
