my friend whom owns a S-Work Tarmac has this questions for all you climbing gurus:

I'm having a hard time climbing small to moderate hills. I just test rode Rui's Sirrus and I found it a lot easier climbing the same hill. With the Sirrus, I climbed the hill without stopping. With my Tarmac, I had to stop. I've never felt comfortable riding the Tarmac. What gives and shouldn't it be easier to climb hills with a Tarmac than a Sirrus?

fit, overall weight and weight of wheels

stiffness could be part of it but unless one frame is a noodle and the other is solid - shouldn't be that big of an impact?

Wow a Tarmac, your friend has a "race" bike with "race" gearing. The easiest gear is 39/23. With your Sirrus even in the middle ring, you have 38/25, and it's even easier in the granny gear. I'd say some more miles climbing with your friend would improve his climbing ability.
