There are many 29'er single speed frames available, but are there any SINGLE SPEED frames made for 26" wheels? I think that I would like to put some fat slicks on a 26'er and stomp around Austin.

On One? They're in the UK but the exchange rate isn't too bad for you at the moment.

I went to a LBS after posting this question. They had a Redline Monocog with 29" wheels for sale. The salesperson told me that he could order a Monocog with 26" wheels. That answered my question. I'm still looking forward to hearing from other people.

What other brands, aside from the premium brands, would you recommend?

what size you looking for?

A small frame. I'm 5' 7", and I prefer a bike that's just a hair on the smaller side. A 16" frame I think.

I believe Salsa still makes one.

Salsa makes a single speed, but I don't know if they make one for 26" wheels.

I took a look at the Surly 1x1. I like the look of that frame. The front fork has just a little bit of rake, and I like that.

Is that it. Heck at that price, you might as well also buy a spare just to have hang around. :p

I know. I have 5 of them just in case I need to go to the grocery store real quick or lend one to a friend who's lost his license due to a DUI. :p
