Its was a great a to ride out at grapevine lake 101 with 85% humidity on a straight line course. My two friends and I are about 3 miles in and I hear a loud hissing coming from my tire, but it soon goes away. We continue on and it comes back. So I stop and my two friend go ahead to look for a road and get the truck and call it day because conditions are so great and I left my pack with spare tubes in the truck. I seat my bike up against a tree and noticed my seat was missing. My first reaction was WTF?!? So I back track on foot and find it and I put it in my waterbottle hold and I ride out little bit because the road the is close and before we hit road I had lost my seat. Just my little adventure today.
I am new to this and I am wondering if this is common to break a seat and what is a descent seat? I don't really sit down to much but its nice to have a break every now and then.

Broken saddles happen, especially with bontrager saddles.

I cracked a Ti rail on my WTB saddle at Whistler...breaking one happens if you land (crash) the right way.

But is yours broken or did it just come loose and fall off?

It broke the plastic housing around the rails.

I don't sit down much when I ride. Grapevine Lake has quite a few rocky spots.
