Mountain Biking - Anybody ride 24 Hr races solo?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just like the title. Anybody around here ride those solo? What do you do about sleep (if any) and ensuring that you eat/drink enough? What about having enough lighting?
I have done 24 hours before in a team, but am wondering about giving it a shot solo.
Thanks!

So I looked at the standings from last year's "24 Hours in the Old Pueblo" near Tucson. This is the one I have ridden in a group before. Tinker Juarez won first in the solo class, going almost 300 miles in 24 hours!!!! Holy Crap! It would be fun to race "against" a mountain biking legend (even despite the repeated lapping and but whipping).
