I know, Varsities arent the best frames for conversion, but it's my girls and she wanted it to ride nicer. I picked up a set of DP18s for it and the front wheel will absolutely not accept the front fork, or I guess the other way around. If anyone has a solution to this problem, please let me know. The fork ends for one are too narrow, so I had to stretch it out but secondly, the fork ends are simply too narrow for the skewers to pop in. Should I file/Dremel them so they will accept the wheel?

Might as well.

Well is there any other way of getting it to fit?

Get a different axle.
Remove unnecessary spacers, if there are any.
Post a picture.

I can visualize 2 separate potential problems with your Varsity fork.
The first is that the openings in the dropouts are too narrow to fit the larger diameter QR axle. I've successfully solved that in years past by filing the opening.
The second is the thickness of the dropouts. If your QR axle extends beyond the dropout by even the tiniest amount. The QR will bottom against the axle and won't grab the fork dropout. If that's the case, you might be able to shiften the axle with a file or bench grinder.

you could also replace the fork, I'm assuming there are some cheap-o bike shops/sheds that have old forks fore 5-10 bucks. just don't forget your crown-race.

Filed down the fork ends. Fit fine, but very, very snug now. End of thread. Thanks for the responses.
