Tandem Cycling - Bike Virginia

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Here is an article from our local club newsletter about our tandem experience at Bike Virginia.

Compared to previous Bike Virginia's we attended, it was hillier and longer. In years past, there was usually a 40 mile option at least for a couple of days -- not this year. The first day was hot and humid. We were beginning to question our sanity. Luckily, the rest of the trip was cooler.
We did 281 miles. Not sure of the elevation but it seemed like every day was about 3,000 ft.

We rode Bike Virginia in 02. It was hilly, I don't think that we rode 100 yards flat and there was constant bike traffic that slowed us on down hills. It is the only time that we have gone down a hill with a run away truck ramp. The ride was well organized.

According to my Polar we had 276 miles and 13,037 cumulative ascent in the five days. The first day was brutal!
