Hybrid Bicycles - FX 7.6 Fork : carbon Vs suspension

Ok Hello all !

Well i would like to hear your opinion about Trek FX 7.6 bike....
My major problem is front fork of that bike ... i spend most of my time (while raiding bike) on roda however from time to time im forced to go out of asphalt, and go across roadsid, how will rims react on that ? is it beter then to take bike with front suspension ? and in time i would like to put disc brakes on him is it posible on carbon nebula fork ?

My overall opinion of the 7.6FX = Great Bike for road and paved - path. Probably not so great away from asphalt. I would be more concerned about side - side traction with the smooth 28 width tires and bike slipping out from under you.

The rims are double walled with the hard case tires so puncture should not be an issue and you should have margin to prevent damaging rims assuming one does not go mountain biking with it.

7.5FX has 32's, but feels as good as 7.6FX on road. More traction. Wife has the 7.5, while I have the 7.6.

If majority if riding is road, I would get 7.6FX. There is room to put higher traction, wider tires if you find it's needed. This is something I am considering for the winter.

ofc it helps specily that i know that is posible to put wider tires on him what was one of my problems if i need to travel for some time off road (walk with dog etc.)

Well if u have 7.6 then few more questions for you ... brakes ? how thea work is thers any need for disc braking system ? and that shock absorbing on back is it good ?
Oh yes and raidin positin, how do you like ?

P.S. did you finde any disadvantage on him ?

There's plenty of braking power from the rim brakes, I don't see any need for discs. I think the compliance over bumps and rougher road terrain is quite good with the carbon fork and shock-absorbing rear frame. I came from a Trek 7500 that had suspension forks and a suspension seatpost, and I much prefer the 7.6fx on the same roads.

I have had same experience as jarelj with respect to the ride. I tested a bike with disc brakes vs. the treks linear pull brakes and found the linear pull more effective There is a lot surface area to grab at that higher radius out on the rim.

I agree with foregoing the disc-brakes. I would upgrade the V-Brakes on the bike. Avid Single-Digit 7's are great! Stop you fast and sure. Hardly, if ever, needs adjusting. My 7.5 works fine on both paved and loose rock and dirt. Some wider tires will likely help you - if needed.

Disc brakes for anything but Downhill Racing are absolutely not a plus! My Mt. Bike which I equipped with High level Shimano from top to bottom, front to back has V-brakes and has not been a problem!
